Now there are two types of digital camera that you can get. There are the smaller digital cameras, which have some amazing features and can take really amazing photos or there are the digital SLR cameras. Smaller Digital Cameras
If the less bulky style selfie stick compatible camera is what you are looking for, there are a wide range of choices out there. As with anything, you only get what you pay for so do avoid cheap and nasty cameras. The lenses in them are not as good, they do not have as many shooting modes and they also often do not have a built in rechargeable battery. This means that they batteries will go flat very quickly, so you will need to keep spares with you at all times. They can also be pretty flimsy and break more easily than a more expensive version.

The higher quality smaller Digital Cameras Camcorders are definitely the way to go. They have better quality lenses that utilize the latest in lens technology. They also have far more shooting modes from macro, right through to panorama, meaning that you are getting a far more versatile camera. Better quality small cameras also come with their own high power rechargeable NIMH batteries. These last much longer so, on a full charge, you will be able to enjoy a full day out of photo taking without having to worry that your battery is going to fail. Also available in this range are tough cameras. These are water proof, dust proof and can generally handle getting dropped, this gives you the ultimate in flexibility. You can photos underwater, at the beach, even in the snow, without having to worry that it is going to damage you camera.

Digital SLR Cameras
These are a little bulkier than their counterparts, but take far better photos. They have interchangeable lenses to give you the perfect lenses for any occasion. The anti-shake and anti-blur in them is amazing and the broad range of setting that they have allows you to be able to get really creative with your photography. For a selfie, you would choose a more narrow angle lens and the shots that you get will be amazing!

The Selfie Stick
For anyone who is truly into taking amazing selfies, a selfie stick is a must have. Keep in mind that these are only appropriate for use with smaller cameras and mobile phone cameras. The allow you to get more of the background into the shot and make for some really great photos. A good quality selfie stick will be made from high quality components, be telescopic and have a button or trigger on the handle that will make your camera take the photo.

The Positioning of Yourself as the Subject in a Selfie
A lot of people will always centre themselves in a selfie photo. Try experimenting with placing yourself in different positions in the foreground. Especially at an event such as flag Day, where you want to be able to capture the fun and excitement that is going on in the background. Try positioning yourself off to one side, say the left, thus allowing you to capture the action that is going on behind you. Experiment using different positioning and angles so that you capture not only your own smiling face in the photo, but more of your back ground as well.

So if you are trying to expand your social media audience or just wanting to impress you current following, why not use the above tips? Give them a go prior to Flag Day so that when the day comes around, you will be fully ready to take some amazing selfies that will create, not only great memories for you to keep for a lifetime, but some great shots for your audience. I’m sure they will love you for it!
